Join Bonnie Sitter, the co-author of "Onion Skins and Peach Fuzz", as she brings the histories of the Ontario Farm Service Force to life with stories and photos. Learn when, why and how the program began, where the Farmerettes spent their summers, their work and their leisure time and how the book got the title it did. Letters, essays and camp songs describing their adventures are bound to entertain you. Learn why their book has been selected to be adapted as a play using the same title and why it has been nominated for the Alison Prentice Award recognizing the best book in Ontario Women's History in the preceding 3 years. Most of all, learn why so many women look back and describe it as a "never to be forgotten summer."
The presentation will run from 7:00 to 8:00 in the museum's program room and will be followed by a question period and refreshments. No registration required.
