On February 10 at 7 p.m., we will be joined by local playwright William Butt, who will speak on his play, Mighty Men of Zorra, that will run from March 20th to March 29th, 2026, at Thistle Theatre in Embro.

Light Up The Museum - 2025
The holiday season is upon us and the museum grounds are ready to twinkle, sparkle and glow. Each year, with the help of a group of wonderful sponsors, new light displays are installed. You are invited to join us to see these lights flicker on at 6:45pm on Friday, December 5th, 2025. The event kicks off at 6:30. Enjoy the snowy grounds, fireside treats, a playlist of festive favourites, some holiday craft stations and warm beverages. Step into the gazebo to greet our special guest from the North Pole or warm up inside our historic house, where the Christmas spirit continues across our local history exhibits.

You’re all dressed up in your costume and ready for a night of trick-or-treating? Stop into the museum before the sun goes down and the neighbourhood fright begins. Our historic house provides the perfect, spooky backdrop for Halloween fun. Come play games, make crafts and sip some seasonal drinks. Pick up a treat bag and take photos with the whole crew before setting off for your Halloween night. Drop in runs from 5pm until 7pm. Free to participate.

Mackay Legacy Display - Visiting Exhibition - Canadian Mackay Committee
This visiting display will be installed in the museum’s Program Room between September 9th and September 20th, 2025. Designed by the Canadian Mackay Committee, it was recently installed at the TECO Cultural Centre in Scarborough. See artifacts and videos related to Mackay and Taiwan and learn about the history of the Twinning between Tamsui and Oxford County, which has facilitated many exchanges over the last 25 years. On September 18th at 6:00pm, come for a presentation by Michael Stainton, a Research Associate from the York Centre for Asian Research, who will discuss what Zorra Township gave to Taiwan in George Leslie Mackay.
