Learning Objectives

- Examine how the Agrarian Movement shaped rural identity in South-West Oxford and Zorra in the 1920s, focusing on values like cooperation, self-sufficiency, and community ties.

- Analyze how agricultural colleges, co-operatives, and organizations advanced education and technology in rural communities.

- Evaluate how mechanization transformed farming practices and life in the 1920s using artifacts and primary sources.

- Discuss the tensions between modernization and maintaining rural values, considering how communities balanced change with preserving farm life traditions.

Delivery Options:

Field Trip:

  • Half-day ($6/student): 2.5-hour program, includes an opportunity for lunch break

  • Full-day ($11/student): 4.5 - 5-hour program, includes additional activities and an opportunity for lunch break

  • Two 60-minute sessions covering Parts 1 and 2. (includes two separate visits/virtual sessions)
