Join us on Tuesday, February 11, at 7 p.m. for our 2025 Speaker Series. This February, we welcome award-winning journalist Brian (Chip) Martin, who will present his book From Underground Railroad to Rebel Refuge: Canada and the Civil War

From Underground Railroad to Rebel Refuge: Canada and the Civil War relays the intriguing role played by Canadians and Canada before, during and after the American Civil War. Martin’s book is the winner of silver and bronze medals in the IPPY (Independent Book Publishers) Awards and was nominated for two other prestigious awards in the United States.

Chip will bring along copies of his books and will sign and sell them for $25 apiece.

After the presentation, you can participate in a Q&A session, share your insights, and savour light refreshments provided by the Beachville District Historical Society. This event is free, with donations welcome to support our programming. No registration is required, but seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
