What is digitization?

Digitization is the process of converting any kind of information or material into a digital format.
Please do not intend to digitize any personal information such as addresses, phone numbers, social security numbers, etc.

What can you bring?

Items related to East Nissouri, Embro, North Oxford or West Zorra including:

  • Single or multi-page documents such as newsletters or smaller maps

  • Flat documents such as letters and posters up to 12.2 x 17.2 inches

  • Photographs up to 8 ½ x 11 inches

  • 3D objects such as hats, toys, tools, and jewelry that measure up to 24 x 24inches

Why should you consider digitizing your items?

Creating digital copies of physical items provides extra security in knowing you have multiple copies of an item. Digitizing also makes it easier to share files with loved ones (no matter how far away) or include in family histories. Digitization of local, historical materials will help to ensure that important pieces of our local heritage are preserved for future research and the enjoyment of the next generations.
