Education and Public Programs Coordinator

 
 

The Beachville District Museum is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as an Education and Public Programs Coordinator (EPPC). As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in shaping and executing our 2026/2027 programs and events. This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate passionate about museums, heritage, education, and community engagement.

Start Date: May 18, 2026

End Date: March 1, 2027

Hours: 35 hours per week (9am-4pm, Monday-Friday) *Hours may vary based on event schedule and may include evenings and/or weekends

Reporting to the Curator, the EPPC’s primary responsibilities are to:

-Develop and Implement 2026/27 Program and Event Schedule

-Market Programs and Events

-Coordinate and Deliver Curriculum-Based Educational Programs, PA Day Camps, and Hands-on Heritage workshops

-Develop Community Outreach and Engagement Materials

-Collect and Analyze Participant Evaluations

The ideal candidate:

- Holds a degree in museum studies, history, education, cultural studies, or a related field, and has experience with public or educational programming;

- Is creative, motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a team;

- Communicates professionally, is approachable, and enjoys engaging with diverse audiences;

- Has basic experience with marketing or design software (e.g., Canva) and is comfortable using digital tools such as Google Drive (or is willing to learn);

- Meets Young Canada Works - Building Careers in Heritage eligibility requirements; and

- Has reliable transportation.

** Experience in teaching, educational planning, museum research, event management, or public/educational programming will be considered an asset.

Beachville is situated in the Thames River Valley between Ingersoll and Woodstock, just thirty (30) minutes east of London. The village originally developed around the limestone industry and the railroad, and became a central hub of Oxford County. Beachville District Museum is supported through a joint funding agreement between Zorra Township, South-West Oxford Township and the Beachville District Historical Society.

Note: Priority will be given to graduates that have not previously participated in YCW internship programs and that are unemployed or underemployed.
